Any Bank in an urban setting, used to be the equivalent of the famous play by Samuel Becket “Waiting for Godot”, except back then in India, decades ago.
So no harm for Indians to “copy” the technology obtained by sweat and tears and expense of billions of dollars or rubles over decades by the big Two.
Here it is an Eco-system where both Dung and Vishwa seem to be competing for the race to the bottom of the well. 🙄
Look instead at Pockets of Comfort created within your immediate environs.
Again, in any urban setting in India, the Malls are an eco-system as good as any experience in China.
Look at each individual Eco-system within your immediate environs, that works in your land, in your local Area and if you are not discomfited, then all is fine. “Experience” is the key here.
Would that be logical? Yes!
Now, it is an experience that is just as good or not as good as any Bank Office in the US or China or any where else.

Don’t constantly engage in below the navel gazing, if you know what I mean and most of all Don’t Complain; or at least not so much.
So what I’m suggesting is that rather than constantly comparing and tearing one’s clothes in agony, employ what the Japanese call “Nemawashi” and Poka Yoke
I generally don’t place a time scale on who is ahead or who is behind and by how many years in this “Game of Nations”.

Petty Corruption. My mainland Chinese American friends, who travel back and forth to China assure me that petty Corruption is well and alive in China and the ranking by Transparency International, which monitors ‘perception of corruption’ in nations, ranks both India and China about equal. So that seems about right. 🙄
Beyond that how logical would it be for one to pick a number based on the number of trips, the Planet Earth makes around the Sun?
Also, what does “Ahead” and “Behind” really mean?
So, here is my proposition.
India has a space program that seeks to reap military as well as civilian benefits in this so-called race which there is none.
AQI (Air Quality Index) Delhi and Beijing… stinks to high heavens. Equivalent to smoking two packs of cigarettes/day even for the non-smoker.
Well for starters, “Vishwa Parihasa ” must run at a ‘faster’ pace than “Dung Po Pew ”.
It is the same situation, when I learn Newton’s Laws or Calculus. I can freely learn it without breaking much of a sweat. Use some else’s Gyanodayam for literally free.
Some Examples
Many lost their heads, as they looked behind to see if Atalanta was gaining on them . Hippomenes was given a head start by Atalanta.
This paradox argues that Viswa Parihasa, a swifter than Dung runner, can never overtake the slower Dung Poo Pew, who has a head start by the way, because by the time Viswa Parihasa reaches the Dung's starting point, Dung will have moved forward, and Viswa must then catch up to that new position, repeating this process… ad infinitum.
And the plummeting birth rate in China and the aversion to marriage in China and even sex, among the young is increasing exponentially, seems to point to that.

Nemawashi: Small incremental improvements, that make your daily experiences better in whatever “Ecosystem”, you have to interact with.
They, in turn, have eyes only for the Good Ole USA.

I will even wager one of my shares in JD. Com ( a Chinese MNC) that most Chinese are not even bothered to see, if India is “lagging” behind them.
But is this what we want to emulate? I don’t know the answer to that?
